Bent Creek River Park to Southern Waterways
River Park 7 mile float trip -
small waves, easy current, excellent beginner trip suitable for children as
small as 35 lbs.
This 7 mile river trip is our most popular trip.
Carving its way through the Biltmore Estate Property and some of the oldest
mountains on earth, this quiet scenic float trip has all the variety for a fun
filled day on the river. All of our trips are self guided, (unless a guide has
been requested) and groups can expect to be on the river for up to 3 hrs.
Because our trip floats through the beautiful Biltmore Estate Property there is
no development or large road systems, this is an 8 thousand acres private,
protected wilderness property. Our guests can expect to see along the river
banks and in the trees a variety of animals and bird life. The River Otter,
Soft Shell Turtle, Pileated Wood Pecker, Carolina Wren and the famous Great
Blue Heron are all likely to be seen when floating this relaxing, quiet, scenic
trip on the French Broad River.
Come and enjoy lunch at one of our riverside picnic tables,
complete with outdoor grill. If your group needs a bigger area come
and sit under our large pavilion style picnic facilities and watch the majestic
French Broad River roll on by. After lunch or your river trip, get a group
together and play a game of vollyball in our sand pit tournament size vollyball
court. Or maybe try your hand at an old style game of horseshoes. There's
plenty of room to just stretch out and relax too, all the while the beauty and
tranquility of the French Broad river dances it's magical dance right before
your eyes.
