7 mile float trip - small waves, easy current, excellent beginner trip suitable for children as small as 35 lbs.
This trips usually lasts for 3 hrs, although times vary with changing conditions

T
his 7 mile river trip is our most popular trip. Carving its way through the Biltmore Estate Property and some of the oldest mountains on earth, this quiet scenic float trip has all the variety for a fun filled day on the river. All of our trips are self guided,  and groups can expect to be on the river for up to 3 hrs. Because our trip floats through the beautiful Biltmore Estate Property there is no development or large road systems, this is an 8 thousand acre private, protected wilderness property. Our guests can expect to see along the river banks and in the trees a variety of animals and bird life. The river otter, soft-shell turtle, pileated wood pecker, Carolina wren and the famous great blue heron are all likely to be seen when floating this relaxing, quiet, scenic trip on the French Broad River.

How this works: *Reservations are Recommended...Reservations are ONLY guaranteed with a credit card confirmation by an AOC staff member.* Guest arrive at the Asheville Outdoor Center at least 30 minutes prior to a trip time ( 10, 11 AM, 1, 2 PM), guests are checked in, release forms signed, payment made, and directed to the safety area. We require all guests to participate in the safety briefing. Once the safety orientation is over guests board the vans for a short shuttle (drive) to Bent Creek Park, there staff unload boats, guests get in , and you are off paddling for 3 hours. Easy. The 7 mile river trip is a self guided river experience. You arrive back at the Asheville Outdoor Center, back where your car is ready for your next adventure.

All boaters, boats and vehicles accessing at Asheville Outdoor Center must be off the river
and out of the parking lot at the conclusion of each business day (typically 5:00PM),
late fee will apply
.
Any vehicle left in our lot after closing will be towed at the owner's expense.
